Let me tell you a little about my beautiful babies and a bit about us as breeders
My husband and I have ALWAYS loved Huskies and other northern breeds, but admittedly, we did not know much about them. When we bought our first dog, it was a Siberian husky, an though she was a great dogs, we learned how WILD , energetic and stubborn, and even aggressive these dogs can be. We then got a Samoyed, another northern dog that is super fluffy and solid white. We just fell in love with the personality, and the calm, loving gently demeanor! We were sad about how stressful owning a Husky had become, they are such stunning dogs!
We decided to take what we love about the husky ( blue eyes and stunning colors and patterns ) and what we love about the Samoyed ( fluffy, loving, sweet gently personality ) and have been working the last 10 years on creating another breed with the beauty and exotic colors of the Husky, with the temper, personality and fluffiness of the Samoyed! We have decided to call this breed " Alaskan Nanuks".
We are exceedingly pleased with what we have created, and have already placed puppies in home with children, other dogs and even cats with amazing results!! We hope that in the years to come, this becomes a popular breed, and will be a good fit for families who are looking for a Husky like dog, that is calmer and sweeter. Huskies make great dogs for very high energy people, and we love Huskies dearly, but we strongly believe that our Alaskan Nanuks are better " family dogs". It has taken years and countless dollars to get us this far, but seeing the families we have completed and knowing we just gave a child their new best friend makes it all worth it. Because of the genetic diversity in our dogs, and our careful health screening, the dogs we breed live much longer then your average dog, the estimated life span is 15 + years! These guys are truly one of a kind, and the most unique dog available right now, and we are hoping with all of our hearts, that it will be a common dog breed one day, everyone deserves to have a wonderful and beautiful dog like this!
Our ethics and standards are set very high, these dogs are bred and meant to be family dogs, not working dogs like the Huskies were bred for. All of Our puppies always go to the vet and have a very thorough exam to make sure they are healthy and ready to go to their new homes, they are also check for worms, given de-wormer ( just to be on the safe side ) and are fully vaccinated ageist all the major viruses that threaten a young puppy's health.
